  148. For me, I think it's the unique and original stories coming from YA authors. Granted there are always going to be stories with some cliches, but from what I've seen lately, the groundbreaking stuff is coming from the YA genre.

I love the Iron Fey series by Kagawa, the Modern Faerie Tale series by Holly Black, and Ballad and Tithe by Maggie Stiefvater, in addition to Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely. (Do you notice a fantasy trend there?)

  154. I really enjoy many genres and YA is just one. My criteria is a good story and often I find the YA is more focused on the story than on more adult issues. It is not YA, but I highly recommend the Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison. Lots of fun characters and while there is some adult content it is more story driven and loads of fun :)

  162. One YA book i fell in love with was Poison Princess! Can't wait for the sequel! I love reading YA because of the sweet build up of teens falling in love and the 'love triangle' presented in most YA books!
