Since Google Reader (Google Friends Connection/GFC) is going away, I saw that many book bloggers I'm following started to use bloglovin'. Since I don't really understand what best to follow, and since I need to follow my fellow book bloggers anyway, I decided to join bloglovin' as well. Honestly, I've never really checked, or knew exactly how to use the Google Reader. My bad. :D And guess what, ever since I use bloglovin', so far I'm pretty enjoying using it.
So, maybe from now, instead of using GFC, I'd ask people to follow me via bloglovin'. Of course, GFC is still available until July. But why don't we get ready and start join the bloglovin' from now? :)
Along with this post, I also want to know this:
What way do you use to follow bloggers/people that you like best?
GFC?
Email?
Twitter? I have reached my limit for following 2000 people, and I can't follow people for now unless the number of my followers increasing. I'd appreciate if you follow me via Twitter here. :D)
Facebook?
RSS? (another confession to make, I still don't get what RSS is)
Linky?
Networked Blogs? Just like Twitter, I've just found out that you have limit 200 for following. At least that's my case.
Google Plus? (I rarely check this, too)
I'm one of those giveaway addicts. So at first I sign up almost everywhere just to add the entry on rafflecopter, and in the end I rarely check them out.
For me, most of the time, the way I got updated from those bloggers was through emails because I can check them from my Blackberry and I got updated like almost every minutes, or seconds, and it's pretty easy to know what's going on. I read reviews, memes, and any other post. The bad news: having my way following via email like that, I, of course, rarely make a comment, even though I want to at that time, right away. That's confirming I'm one of those silent reader/stalker. :D
Since most of the time the signal around my house was pretty bad, I can hold on to only emails. Sometimes all I can do is just adding star to mark it as an important one to check on later. That way, whenever I get a chance to go online from laptop/PC, I just get back to it. I also use a different email to follow people. So it won't mix with my personal emails. But of course, with all those emails, it's pretty overwhelming. And you can miss an important news, too, like the announcement that you're a winner giveaway. My solution, use another email whenever you need to fill the email form as a way to contact you. :D
The second best for me: Facebook. And of course, I have this special account, too, for following people/fan page.
The third best? Twitter. Another different account from my personal twitter.
And of course, Goodreads. :)
Well, enough for that. Let's just move on to the giveaway. Since it's about joining bloglovin, Follow Me via Bloglovin' is mandatory. The rest is extra.
There will be 2 winners and each of them get to choose $10 Amazon GC or $10 shopping spree from The Book Depository. So you can choose one, two, or three. Of course, this is INTERNATIONAL as long as you're legal to use Amazon GC or The Book Depository ships to your country (you can check it here)
Good luck!
My preferred method is GFC, although Google Reader is going but I think GFC is staying after July. It's so confusing lol
ReplyDeleteI like getting e-mail updates too :)
Gosh, talking about GFC, I forgot to add it on my rafflecopter. Edited. Sorry. I guess I'm not much a Google Reader that's why I forgot it easily. Hmpfh!
DeleteThanks for answering, Cerian. :)
gfc or facebook more fast jijij maybe twitter ...
ReplyDeletealmendra in the rafflecopter
I quite like GFC because the blog posts come up on the Blogger dashboard. I don't mind bloglovin either.
ReplyDeleteI prefer GFC and RSS
ReplyDeleteI prefer email, that way I actually get to read your blog updates without a visit. GFC is helpless. Facebook only allows little audience to view posts. Twitter is limited with characters in text.
ReplyDeleteI follow the ones that I like best either by bloglovin or email because that way i get to see ALL of their posts :D
ReplyDeleteI like to use email but if I don't check my email in like a day or two my inbox becomes overwhelming to sort through. Right now I'm loving Bloglovin', I love the simplicity of the design and it's so convenient.
ReplyDeleteI'm using email to follow through blog hop ;p
ReplyDeleteBut I really like to peek any GA that pop-ups on my twitter timeline ;p
I use email to follow favorite blogs. Since I discovered Bloglovin' I have been following A LOT of blogs. I like how easy and simple it is =) The other methods I don't use or use rarely =\ ...Oh, except for Twitter, FB and Goodreads, which I'm always on =D
ReplyDeleteMy fave is GFC but I also follow through Linky, Networked Blogs, Twitter, Facebook, email and recently, Bloglovin. Gosh! It seems that I love following people LOL
ReplyDeleteI like GFC or email to follow. I signed up to bloglovin 2 days ago to try it out and transferred my subs over. Going ok so far!
ReplyDeleteIrene
I prefer Email, it's easier to know what goes on on blogs that way.
ReplyDeleteI prefer email to follow favorite blogs because it's easier for me, but I use the others ways too. :)
ReplyDeleteI like email. Frankly it's just too much bother to check everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI'm really liking Bloglovin'!
ReplyDeleteIf I really like a blog I will just subscribed to their email. That way I know what’s new and all that. I actually don’t go on any of the other social media. Except Facebook. I don’t mind following blogs using GFC, Linky, Tumblr and Bloglovin. I actually like Bloglovin. I’ll have to see how it works and all of that and I just might start checking on there to see what’s going on. But my favorite way is definitely email and Bloglovin. Thank you so much for a chance at winning in your awesome giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteVia twitter and Bloglovin is great.
ReplyDeletefollow by email...
ReplyDeleteEmail. Before i open my account at social media, i always open my email. I can read a new post of blog that followed by me with or without open the blog....
ReplyDeleteI like GFC and e-mail! Thanks for this amazing giveaway - I would love to win!

I like emails best!
ReplyDeleteGFC =) I didn't think GFC was going though, I thought it was only Google Reader?
ReplyDeleteI like GFC and Bloglovin!

I prefer email and GFC. But now I think I'm falling in love with Bloglovin ;D
ReplyDeleteVia GFC!
ReplyDeleteAs a fellow blogger, I would say email. But most people don't like email, but it is the most direct and "annoying" form of interaction between blog updates and readers. As a reader, I'm sure most people like GFC. I like Bloglovin, too! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway!
I like GFC and email :)
ReplyDeleteI use GFC and email.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
I use GFC and email the most. Facebook, but I'm at my limit there and on Twitter.
ReplyDeleteI prefer GFC.
ReplyDeleteI prefer email and Bloglovin. Thank you for the amazing giveaway!! Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteRight now I've been loving Bloglovin. Other than that I would say email because it's also easier to keep up with the news.
ReplyDeleteI love how quick and easy it is to sign up for GFC, and how quickly you can type GFC, but I think Bloglovin' and Networked Blogs are better options.
ReplyDeleteI love bloglovin way more than GFC. I won't lie, I never went back to read the GFC page so I missed all the pages. I love that bloglovin sends me an email daily with posts from pages that I follow. Oddly enough in all the years I had GFC I only had around 9 followers. I have had bloglovin probably 2 weeks or so and already have over 70 followers. I think part of it is that when you follow a blog there are suggest sites that are like that site.
ReplyDeletei like the gfc scrolling and available at all times on my overview blog page - couldn't be handier & 0 clogging up my email accts!
ReplyDeletethanks for asking and for the great offer for more books!! :)
GFC :)
ReplyDeleteEmail:) I regularly check my email, so I prefer seeing updates that way:) Thanks Diah!:)
ReplyDeleteGFC :)
ReplyDeleteMy fave is GFC. And, also, Goodreads.
ReplyDeleteI keep hitting limits on Twitter & FB, and I hate having to unfollow people.
BTW, 2 questions. 1. Where did you hear GFC is going away in July? I only saw that Google READER is ending in July. I'd love to see it documented that both are. Sadly, I will miss BOTH. 2. What manga is your icon from? It's so cute.
Hi, Holly, actually, you're right. I only saw about GR ending in July, too. Until now, I still don't know exactly whether GFC and GR are linked so I'm not so sure that just because GR is going away, GFC is going, too. But if people cannot get an update via reader, I wonder what's the use of GFC for?
Delete2. As for the icon, I draw it myself. :)
Thank you. ^^
mail and twitter because they are more easy and.cool tool that you can use when you want and people have more accesibiliti
ReplyDeleteI like GFC & Twitter.
ReplyDeleteI missed this giveaway- but I loved reading the responses! I prefer GFC and facebook myself because I think they are the easiest for me to read through and comment to people.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed that GFC isn't going away.
